PSG delivered a statement victory over Manchester City, winning 4–2 in a thrilling Champions League encounter at the Etihad Stadium. Six goals, a dramatic second-half fightback and missed opportunities made this a night City will want to forget.
PSG Strike, City Struggle
Paris Saint-Germain came out firing, with Désiré Doué opening the scoring before Ousmane Dembélé doubled the advantage. Vitinha added a third, leaving City facing a difficult battle before halftime.
Manchester City struggled to contain PSG’s movement and attacking intensity, with the visitors exploiting spaces and punishing defensive mistakes.
Haaland Leads City’s Fightback
City responded after the break, with Erling Haaland scoring twice to give the home side hope of an unlikely comeback. However, Maghnes Akliouche struck for PSG to restore their advantage and put the result beyond City’s reach.
Ferran Torres also missed a late penalty, ending City’s hopes of making the final minutes even more dramatic.
What This Means for Both Teams
For PSG, this victory reinforces their status as serious contenders in Europe. Their attacking quality, composure and tactical discipline proved decisive against one of the continent’s biggest clubs.
For Manchester City, the defeat raises questions about their defensive organisation. Despite Haaland’s impressive performance, City’s slow start proved too costly to overcome.
Final Verdict
Manchester City 2–4 PSG. PSG showed their European pedigree, while City’s second-half response was not enough to rescue the night.
The message is clear:
you cannot afford to switch off against a team as dangerous as PSG.
