Real Madrid delivered another impressive European performance, defeating RB Leipzig 4–1 at the Santiago Bernabéu to continue their strong start to the Champions League campaign.
The Spanish giants had to work for their breakthrough, but Bernardo Silva opened the scoring in the 44th minute to give Madrid a crucial lead just before half-time.
After the restart, Kylian Mbappé took centre stage. The French superstar scored in the 52nd minute and struck again in the 83rd, putting Madrid firmly in control and leaving Leipzig with a mountain to climb.
Leipzig managed to pull one back through Gomis in the 85th minute, briefly offering their supporters hope. However, Yan Diomande responded in the 87th minute to restore Madrid’s three-goal cushion and seal an emphatic victory.
For Real Madrid, the result underlines their attacking strength and ability to deliver on the biggest European stage. Leipzig, meanwhile, will need to improve defensively after struggling to contain Madrid’s attacking threats.
THE BIG TAKEAWAY:
Mbappé was once again decisive, but Madrid’s collective performance showed why they remain one of the most dangerous teams in European football.
