From frustration to celebration! Everton produced a brilliant second half comeback to defeat Coventry City 3–1 at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with Thierno Barry stealing the spotlight.

David Moyes’ men had to dig deep after falling behind, but a sensational response after the break ensured Everton continued their impressive run of form.

Coventry started the contest with confidence and gave the hosts plenty to think about. Despite Everton creating opportunities, the visitors remained organised and made life difficult for the home side.

The breakthrough eventually arrived in the 52nd minute when Gboho turned past Jarrad Branthwaite before finishing beyond Jordan Pickford to give Coventry a 1–0 advantage.

However, Everton’s response was immediate.

Just five minutes later, Thierno Barry rose brilliantly to head home Vitalii Mykolenko’s cross and restore parity for the Toffees.

Barry was not finished. Four minutes later, the Everton striker struck again to complete the turnaround, although Coventry were furious over a possible handball in the build-up. VAR reviewed the incident but allowed the goal to stand.

With Coventry searching for an equaliser, Everton found the space to deliver the final blow.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall produced a powerful finish in the 81st minute after being set up by Barry, sealing a 3–1 victory for the home side.

BARRY LEADS THE SHOW

The biggest story of the night was undoubtedly Thierno Barry.

Two goals and an assist made it a remarkable performance from the Everton forward, who continues to establish himself as an important attacking figure for Moyes.

Dewsbury-Hall also deserves recognition for his contribution, while Everton’s ability to respond under pressure demonstrated their growing confidence.

MOYES REACHES ANOTHER MILESTONE

It was also a special night for David Moyes, who took charge of Everton for the 592nd time, equalling the club record previously held by Harry Catterick.

The victory made the occasion even sweeter as Everton secured another important three points.

For Coventry and Frank Lampard, meanwhile, there will be disappointment after allowing a promising position to slip away.

Everton showed character, Barry delivered the goals, and the Toffees had the final word.

Was Thierno Barry’s performance one of the best individual displays of the Premier League weekend?
