Sunderland and Leeds share the points as both sides struggle to find the breakthrough.
Sunderland and Leeds United played out a goalless draw at the Stadium of Light in a tense Premier League encounter where both goalkeepers played crucial roles.
With Sunderland desperate to end their poor league run and Leeds looking to climb higher up the table, the match carried plenty of importance. However, neither side could find the finishing touch.
Leeds goalkeeper James Trafford produced important saves to deny Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey, while the hosts’ goalkeeper Robin Roefs came up big at the other end, stopping dangerous efforts from Ao Tanaka and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Sunderland pushed for a late winner, but Roefs’ opposite number continued to stand firm. A late attempt from Sean Longstaff was also denied by the Sunderland goalkeeper, ensuring the contest ended without a goal.
The result extended Sunderland’s winless Premier League run, although the Black Cats at least stopped their sequence of top-flight defeats. Leeds, meanwhile, had to settle for another draw.
