Arsenal have taken control of the first half at Anfield, heading into the break with a 1–0 advantage over Liverpool in this huge Premier League showdown.
The Gunners struck in the 16th minute after a costly mistake from Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson. Declan Rice capitalised on the opportunity, driving forward before delivering a dangerous cross that Kai Havertz converted at the far post.
Liverpool responded with increased pressure, looking to get back into the contest. Florian Wirtz came agonisingly close with a dipping effort that struck the crossbar in the 39th minute.
The Reds have shown attacking intent, but Arsenal’s defensive organisation has made life difficult for the home side. Liverpool will need a much sharper second-half performance if they are to turn things around.
HALF TIME: LIVERPOOL 0–1 ARSENAL
Kai Havertz 16′
Assist: Declan Rice
Arsenal have the advantage, but with another 45 minutes to play, this contest is far from over.
Can Liverpool produce a second-half comeback, or will Arsenal leave Anfield with all three points?
