Bayer Leverkusen continued their impressive European campaign with a hard-fought 2–0 victory over OFI Crete in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, October 22, 2026.
The German side initially faced a stubborn OFI defence, but Jonas Hofmann stepped up when it mattered most, scoring twice in quick succession to put the visitors firmly in control.
Hofmann opened the scoring in the 35th minute before finding the net again in the 38th minute. His clinical finishing gave Leverkusen a comfortable two-goal cushion heading into the break.
OFI Crete attempted to respond after half-time, creating opportunities to get back into the contest. However, Leverkusen remained disciplined defensively, with goalkeeper Janis Blaswich making important saves to preserve the clean sheet.
