After a tense first half without goals, both teams continued to battle for the breakthrough. Leverkusen had their moments, but Hoffenheim refused to give up and eventually found their reward.

The breakthrough arrived in the 79th minute, when Andrej Kramarić calmly converted a penalty after a VAR review awarded Hoffenheim a spot-kick. The goal also marked Hoffenheim’s 1,000th Bundesliga goal in the club’s history.

Hoffenheim were not finished. Alexander Prass fired home in the 89th minute to make it 2–0, sending the home supporters into celebration. His celebration, however, earned him a second yellow card and a sending-off.

Then came the final blow. In stoppage time, Max Moerstedt struck in the 90+6th minute to complete a remarkable 3–0 win and leave Leverkusen stunned.

The result ended Leverkusen’s five-game unbeaten run, while Hoffenheim continued their recent resurgence with a memorable home performance.
