Liverpool gave their fans something to celebrate at Anfield, securing a convincing 2–0 Premier League win over Brighton with two first-half goals.
The Reds came out with purpose and broke the deadlock in the 17th minute when Florian Wirtz’s effort ended up in the net, with the goal officially credited as a Pascal Groß own goal.
Just four minutes later, Alexander Isak doubled Liverpool’s lead, finishing from close range after a setup from Bradley Barcola. In the space of minutes, Liverpool had taken control of the contest.
Brighton tried to fight their way back into the game, but Liverpool stayed organised and defended their advantage to secure a clean sheet and all three points.
The victory marked an important result for Liverpool and a promising home performance under head coach Andoni Iraola. Brighton, meanwhile, were left frustrated after conceding twice early and failing to find a response.
