What a contest in Istanbul! Liverpool and Fenerbahçe head into the break level after an entertaining opening 45 minutes.
Liverpool took the lead in the 25th minute when Trey Nyoni’s low volley took a deflection off K. Peprah Oppong and wrong-footed goalkeeper Ederson.
But Fenerbahçe refused to surrender. Just four minutes later, Mason Greenwood’s free kick took a deflection off Liverpool defender Jérémy Jacquet and found its way into the net.
The hosts grew in confidence after equalising, creating further danger and even hitting the crossbar as Liverpool came under increasing pressure.
Liverpool started strongly, but Fenerbahçe have shown they are more than capable of making this a difficult evening for the Reds.
The second half promises plenty more drama!
HALF TIME: FENERBAHÇE 1–1 LIVERPOOL.
Who takes control after the break? Can Liverpool find another gear, or will Fenerbahçe complete the comeback?
