Bayern Munich delivered a statement performance in Madrid, defeating Atlético Madrid 2–0 to claim a valuable Champions League victory.
After a goalless first half, teenage sensation Lennart Karl broke the deadlock in the 54th minute, capitalising on a defensive mistake before calmly finishing past Jan Oblak.
Atlético struggled to find a response, and Bayern punished them again in the 74th minute. Konrad Laimer unleashed a powerful finish, with Harry Kane providing the assist to double the visitors’ advantage.
Despite missing several important players and head coach Vincent Kompany, Bayern showed their quality and composure to secure all three points.
For Diego Simeone’s men, it was a frustrating night in front of their home supporters.
